Kakamas is a peach root stock that is used as the standard peach or nectarine root stock for South Africa.

It is sensitive to nematodes, wet conditions and free-lime, so is best used in good-quality, well-draining and deep soils. It is less vigorous than most other root stocks recommended for peaches, and has great variance due to the fact that it is not a cloned stock, but grown from seedlings.
